Intracranial Dural Metastases and Diagnostic Misunderstandings

Dural metastases are rare intracranial tumors. They not sufficiently studied and there still no specific methods to detect them. Differential diagnosis is difficult only the histologic examination allows a sure diagnosis. We reviewed data records from 2016 2020 of patients treated for dural metastases. included with complete anamnestic history, both known unknown primitive cancer. Collected were compared recent literature. operated on 16 single metastases, also very unusual cancers. The most common type cancer, in our series, was lung tumor, contrast prostate recently reported literature as frequent. A retrospective multicenter study mandatory assess new epidemiologic evidences.
